Pricing

Calligraphy, lettering and design are highly custom in nature. Because of this, price can and will vary based on the particulars of a project. To secure space on my calendar, a deposit of $50 is required to be applied to your final balance. 

Exact pricing is determined on a project basis. However, in an effort to provide you with a clearer picture, pricing guidelines are as follows: 

Invitations: 

Event and Wedding invitations are custom designed works and will be priced on request. *

Envelope Lettering (price per piece):

Outer envelope — $2.50, base price, 3 line address
Inner envelope —   $1, base price, per line

Upcharges include:

  • Dark and/or lined envelopes : + $0.50 per piece (guidelines are drawn and erased)
  • Centered Lines: + $0.50 per envelope.  (each line is drawn with pencil, measured, erased, then calligraphed) 
    Staggered Alignment has no upcharge.
  • Custom color inks: $10/color, +$0.25/envelope
  • Metallic inks: +$0.25/envelope
  • Additional lines of text (not including zip or postal code): +$1/line
  • Any additional embellishments: priced on request (this could include watercolor, envelope liners, etc)

The Big Day

Place/Escort Cards  — $2.00/card, base price

Upcharges include:

  • icons or table numbers on Escort/Place cards: +$0.50
  • additional illustrative elements:  priced on request
    (pricing is dependent on the illustration & method of placement on card, (ie, stamped, direct illustration, etc)
  • Custom color inks: $10/color, +$0.25/envelope
  • Metallic inks: +$0.25/envelope

Table Numbers — $1.50/card

Upcharges include:

  • 2-sided table numbers — +$.50
  • additional illustrative elements: priced on request
  • Custom color inks: +$10

**At this time, client are responsible for providing envelope materials. I can, of course suggest the best materials to purchase for calligraphy. If you're short on time & need assistance in purchasing, there will be an additional service fee applied of $25 on top of your materials order**

Event Menus, Event Programs, Event signage, and additional table accessories — Pricing estimate will be provided after an initial consultation.

$100 for design, base price. Final price estimate will be provided after an initial consultation, all it takes is an email

FAQ's

  1. How do I get started? So. Easy. Fill out this form, and email me (Katherine) at winkletters@gmail.com. I will respond to your query within  24hrs and we'll get to work!  
  2. What is your typical turnaround time? Standard turnaround time for calligraphy is apprx 2-3 weeks from the time I receive your envelopes and completed mailing list. Please remember, in order to secure time on my schedule, I must receive your $50 deposit towards your balance. Delays in receipt of materials will result in turnaround delays, so please plan accordingly. I will confirm an estimated date with you after I have received all necessary materials and supplies. If you need your calligraphy earlier, please email me at winkletters@gmail.com to inquire about rush fees.  
  3. What is the process for envelope lettering? Read on...
    • Supply a mailing list:  Fully formatted mailing lists should be emailed to me once your order has been confirmed at winkletters@gmail.com. 
      • How should I format my mailing list? Refer to this word doc or excel spreadsheet when finalizing your list. PLEASE PROOFREAD your list, unfortunately, I cannot be responsible for misspellings due to files received with incorrect information. 
      • What if I have changes to my mailing list after it has been sent? No big! These happen. Please send your changes ASAP! If the envelope has not been written yet, there is not charge. If it has, you will be charged for an additional envelope. 
        • What if I have additional guests? So common! Please email as soon as possible, and I will make not of these additions. If there are changes to an existing guest, and that envelope has not been written, there is no additional charge. If the envelope has been written, you will be charged for an additional envelope. 
        • What if I have changes to my envelopes after I have received them from you? Again, no big! Please let me know of any corrections 48 hours of receiving your order. Send one comprehensive list of complete addresses to be corrected and please indicate what the problem was. If there are enough additional envelopes I will correct errors. Please indicate if the errors are by my fault or your own. Unfortunately, I will cannot correct envelopes on account of spacing/margins unless you have paid for centering. All corrections will be mailed by USPS first class. Correction lists emailed after 48 hours may take longer to complete as we have to go back and setup your order again.
      • Do you need extra envelopes? YES! Please supply no less than 20% extra for spillage. This is inevitably unavoidable with hand-written letters & calligraphy. Please send this additional supply with your original order, and PLEASE COUNT your order prior to sending. I have no real way of knowing how many I will ultimately need to redo until I do, you know? 
  4. Can you match the lettering style from my already printed invitations? I will do my best to come as close as I can to your invitation style. Please send a sample once you have confirmed your order. Work will not begin until a sample has been received (either by mail or email).
